Description

Personal Ad System provides the functions to operate a personal advertising system allowing Internet users to create their own new ads and include graphic images. It provides advanced search functions of active ads. It is customizable and configurable to allow you to define ad fields.

Personal Ad System includes both user front-end and administrative back-end.

User Front-end

The user front-end supports New Ad Entry with image (JPEG or GIF) attachment and Ad Search. The search function is configurable on the back-end for specification of advanced search parameter definitions for each data field. The various pages supporting the user functions use customizable templates allowing you to match both the appearance and functionality desired.

Administrative Back-end

The administrator back-end supports Ad Administration functions for authorizing, updating, activating and deactivating Ads.

Multiple Sites Support

Personal Ad System can be configured to support up to three website domains residing on the same web server. This feature allows user Ads to be selectively included at one or more site.

Web Server Requirements:

  • Operating Systems Supported: Unix, Linux, Macintosh OS X® and Windows®
  • HTTP 1.x with CGI (Common Gateway Interface) PERL 5.x (check with your ISP or Server Administrator; this requirement is typically supported on most systems)
  • SENDMAIL (supported on most all Unix/Linux platforms), or PERL NET:SMTP (available from CPAN) (commonly used on Windows® server platforms) with an SMTP system pre-installed and configured
  • SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) optional, but strongly recommended.

FAQs

Yes. The PERL DBI/DBD module supporting the RDBMS database is also required.

Are multiple sites supported?

Yes. All sites must reside on the same web server. Each site must share read/write access authorization to the data directories to allow the administrative function to operate against all of the supported sites.
