Platform Independent Data

JHZ-CS Web Solutions support rapid deployment. JHZ-CS understands the demands of both the initial and future requirements of new and existing website. Data requirements may be simple or complex. Bandwidth and processor demands may be minimal or significant. Typically these requirements grow as the website adds new function and data, and as visitor traffic increases. To meet flexibility requirements either standard ASCII flat files or RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) data sources are supported allowing a website to tailor its configuration to its particular needs and resources, as well as being able to expand or reduce capacity as requirements increase or decrease. This added layer of flexibility allows webmasters to adjust resources on an as needed basis for optimum performance and cost efficiency.

Data sources for the typical "initial" installation operate using standard ASCII flat file data. This also provides for rapid startup during design proto-typing and test phases allowing data to be created and managed on the desktop using Windows, UNIX, LINUX and Macintosh operating systems, while simultaneously maintaining the website on the web server's specific platform.

The flat file data format is easily maintained across platforms via standard FTP (File Transfer Protocol) application's provided by their built-in platform translation routines handling any required data internal format conversions automatically. Use of the ASCII flat file data format provides the most simple, straight forward, and inexpensive environment for website proto-typing, creation and development.

As performance requirements increase, JHZ-CS Website Solutions easily migrate to support RDBMS data operating against any of the PERL DBI (Database Independence) supported database management systems.

And, the JHZ-CS data handling approach provides a straight forward, cost effective, migration path to other computer platforms; an important, often overlooked future design requirement for any software application systems. And, the exchange of data with other applications is significantly simplified when importing and exporting data assuring data is NEVER deadlocked in a proprietary data management system.
